Tungsten electrodes WL20

WL-20 (skyey)

Use: Tungsten electrodes for welding all types of steels, alloys on AC and DC

Mark by ISO: WL-20

Color of electrode edge: skyey

These electrodes of tungsten alloy with lanthanum oxide have easy initial launch arc, low tendency to burn-through, as well as stable arc characteristics and excellent re-ignition of the arc.

In the composition of the electrode WL-20 figure 20 indicates the addition of 2.0% lanthanum oxide, which allows increasing the maximum current carrying capacity as well as it increase bearing capacity of the electrode approximately on 50% when administered AC welding than tungsten (WP).

In comparison with the thorium (WT) and cerium (WC), lanthanum electrodes (WL) have higher durability of the working edge of the electrode.

Tungsten electrodes with a lanthanum oxide (WL) have a longer life and less slag sacrificed weld. Lanthanum oxide is distributed uniformly along the length of the electrode. It is this technical parameter allows keeping the initial sharpening the edge of the electrode for a long time. This is certainly a significant advantage when welding at a constant (straight polarity) or alternating current from improved welding power sources, various carbon steels and stainless steels. When welding with alternating sinusoidal current electrode edge must have a spherical shape.
